My paintings are a convergence of the energy and beauty found in nature and weather, abstracted against thoughts and emotions. They stem from my experiences traveling the world.

Cathy Zandueta is an emerging contemporary artist using thinned acrylic paints on raw canvas to capture the fluid convergence between two worlds - the external world of earth and the internal world of self.  She explains her methodology of layering veils of color and form as:  “Traveling often, I move past many scenes.  My paintings capture these moments coupled with emotion, which may be unrelated, but at that moment the dual experience merges into a memory."  She is a Belgian-Filipino-American born in the Philippines. After immigrating to California as a child, she went on to receive a BFA from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She lives and works in Los Angeles and coastal Maine.
